Founder & CEO
Albert Wang is Co-Founder and CEO of PatPat, a global children’s apparel company delivering quality clothing and accessories in adorable styles that make you smile.
Albert founded PatPat in 2014 with fellow engineer and father, Ken Gao, who like many parents were frustrated with high prices for quality kids clothing and lack of variety. At the time, they felt their choices were between limited high-priced boutiques and catalogs, or the more affordable, but often dull, cookie-cutter styles of big box retailers. Albert Wang and Ken knew there had to be a better way, and together they set out to build their own modern kids’ apparel brand online.
Harnessing their tech backgrounds, Ken and Albert applied their back-end problem solving skills to re-engineer the supply chain for PatPat. By refining production processes, cutting traditional marketups, and designing an app to engage directly with consumers, PatPat was born and became known for its abundance of unique styles at attainable prices for the average parent. Over the last 8 years, they’ve built PatPat from a single app into a global ecommerce brand beloved by more than 21M customers in 140 countries worldwide with over 30,000 kids and family clothing styles, and counting. Behind the scenes, the two constantly kept an eye toward the latest innovations, exploring and testing a variety of different fabrics, design and production processes including stain resistant fabric, Go-Neat™ and bio-based, sustainable collections with Naia. Their latest innovation Go-Glow by PatPat, brings a breakthrough in fabric technology to the world with light-up clothing for kids.
Prior to PatPat, Albert was a founding member and senior engineer of Oracles’ business intelligence (BI) data group. He was previously the lead engineer of the digital education platform CourseHero. Albert received his Master’s Degree from Carnegie Mellon University with the highest honors in 2006.
Albert is a kid at heart, driven by his curiosity and that of his daughter’s, he strives to constantly innovate at PatPat to surprise and delight her, and kids everywhere.
